Bayer Development Agreement
City Council voted unanimously to extend Berkeley’s 30-year Development Agreement with Bayer Healthcare. As the City’s largest private employer expands to add 1,000 new jobs over the next few decades, the City will be receiving $33 million in community benefits that will include funds for STEAM education, internships and hands-on training in the biotech field, affordable housing, public arts, and more. It was an honor to work with the Mayor’s Office and Bayer to bring this historic agreement together.
